The Everest Base Camp (EBC) stands at 5,364 meters, offering breathtaking scenery, rich Sherpa culture, and one of the most iconic trekking experiences on earth.

Flight Information

During peak trekking seasons, flights to Lukla often operate from Ramechhap (Manthali Airport) instead of Kathmandu due to air traffic.

Drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap takes 4–5 hours.


Itinerary

1330 meter high) Kathmandu city is the capital city of Nepal from where you can catch early flight from domestic airport to the most dangerous airport in the world (Tenzing Hillary airport) in Lukla (2840m). And then head to the phakding (2610m) which will take around 3 or 4 hours depending on your pace approximately 7.5 to 8 km

Phakding known for source of white sand is beautiful village of Sherpa and Rai community. After the breakfast in phakding you can move towards the Namche bazar which would take around 6 to 7 hours depending on your pace approximately 10.5 to 11 km. In this day you will able to see some of the beautiful peaks like as Thamserku (6623m) , Kangtega(6782m), , Kongde Ri (6187m) ,Khumbila(5761m).If you are lucky enough with weather you will get a chance to see a glimpse of Mt. Everest after the crossing famous bridge (Tenzing Hillary bridge) only from exact one view point.

After one night stay in Namche bazar (3450m), you can hike to the Everest view hotel (3880m) from where you can see the Everest clearly with your naked eyes and have cup of tea with your hiking team. If you are feeling good you can visit biggest and oldest Sherpa village named Khumjung (3790m) where you can find Hillary school, Hillary hospital and Buddhist monastery. Then you can return back to Namche bazar at your accommodation and stay another night.

Day 4 of the trekking you will be heading to tengbouche (3860m) from Namche approximately 10 km through the forest and scenic riverside with landscape taking around 5 to 6 hour. From this day, you have to follow your guide instruction by walking in slow and steady pace to avoid the mountain sickness. Once you reach, Tengbouche you will able to see Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Tabouche(6495m) etc clearly as well as closely and you can visit the biggest monastery of this whole trek *Tengboche monastery* nearby your hotel.

From your last accommodation to dingbouche(4410m) it will take around 5 to 6 hours normally including your rest and lunch time covering approximately 10 km. Once you reach dingbouche, make a decision with your team and hike around 150 meter high from your hotel which makes you to sleep well at night time.

After the breakfast pack your lunch and you can move towards the nagarsang peak (5000m) from where you will be able to see Mt. Makalu, Island peak, Shartse (7457m) ,Amadablam, and so on. On this hike it will be up steep and you will be able to feel thinness of air therefore stick with your team leader or the guide.Once you reached your destination you can move down towards the dingbouche gently and have night there.

The 7th day of your trek will be more tough day than before days but it will give you a lot of pleasure from natural view and closely encounter of mountain like Tabouche , Cholatse(6440m), Labouche, Nuptse ,Pumori, Amadablam and other small peaks. On this day, you have to ramble through the Thukla pass where you will see the memorable stupas who were pass away during the Everest expedition, base camp trekking, peak climbing and so on. From Dingboche to Labouche(4940m), it will take around 5 to 6 hour covering 8 to 9 km approximately

From labouche to gorakshep(5164m) it will take around 4 to 5 hours walking on the flat glacier. After reaching, the gorakshep you can have a lunch and move towards the Everest base camp either hike to Kalapathar(5550m) view point depending on the weather and back to the gorakshep for the night.

Early morning hike to Kalapathar or Base camp which one is not done before the day and walk back to Pheriche(4371m) via through the same route from labouche till Thukla and catch different route up to your destination. On this day you will feel lighter and easy as before days because of the lower altitude.

Once you have night in pheriche you can have a breakfast and then you can move down towards the Namche bazar and have beautiful night there.

The last day of your team for walking from Namche bazar to lukla is going to be long day in the term of distance approximately 13.5 km which may take you around 8 to 9 hours. Lastly when you reach lukla you can have a last dinner or party with your team and say good bye to your porters and guide.

Take a breakfast in lukla and head to your airport for your flight depending on your departure time and flew back to Kathmandu.

Important Information

This is a moderate to challenging trek. You should be in good physical condition and able to walk for 5-7 hours per day on uneven terrain with a day pack. Regular cardio and strength training for 2-3 months prior is recommended.
