Itinerary

On the first day of the Langtang Trek, you will take a local jeep from Kathmandu to Syabrubensi, covering approximately 122 km. The drive usually takes around 8 to 9 hours, following winding mountain roads and passing through charming villages. Along the way, you will be able to enjoy scenic views of snow-capped mountains, lush hillsides, and terraced farmlands, giving you a beautiful glimpse of the Himalayas even before the trek begins.

On the second day of the Langtang Trek, you will hike from Syabrubensi to Lama Hotel, walking through beautiful landscapes and dense forests filled with rhododendron and oak trees. The trail follows the Langtang River, offering the soothing sound of flowing water throughout the journey. You may also pass through a few landslide-prone sections, so walking carefully is important. This day’s trek covers approximately 11 km and typically takes around 6 to 7 hours, depending on your pace. The peaceful forest, fresh mountain air, and gradual ascent make this a rewarding day on the trail.

After breakfast at Lama Hotel, you will continue trekking toward the beautiful and historic Langtang Village. The trail gradually opens up as you pass through small settlements such as Ghoda Tabela, Gumba, and several traditional Tamang villages. Along the way, you will enjoy stunning mountain views, lush forests, and the peaceful atmosphere of the Langtang Valley. The trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village covers roughly 11 km and usually takes around 6 to 7 hours to complete. This day offers a perfect blend of cultural encounters, scenic landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the local community.

From Langtang Village, the trail to Kyanjin Gompa is relatively short—approximately 6 to 7 km—but because of the increasing altitude, it’s important to walk slowly and steadily. The gradual ascent helps your body adjust to the higher elevation. Although the distance is not long, it typically takes around 3 to 4 hours to reach Kyanjin Gompa. Along the way, you will enjoy wide valley views, traditional mani walls, and the peaceful beauty of the Langtang Himal range before arriving at the charming Kyanjin Gompa village.

Early in the morning, you will hike to either Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri for breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan giants, including Langtang Lirung, Naya Kang, Ganjala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, and many other surrounding snow-capped mountains. The sunrise over the Langtang range makes this one of the most rewarding and memorable days of the trek. After enjoying the stunning scenery and taking photos, you will descend back to the same hotel in Kyanjin Gompa for rest and overnight stay.

On Day 6, you will begin your descent from Kyanjin Gompa back to Lama Hotel. The downhill walk is easier and much faster than the ascent, but you should still walk carefully, especially on rocky or narrow sections. The journey usually takes around 7 to 8 hours, depending on your pace and the weather. You’ll retrace your steps through Langtang Village and Ghoda Tabela, enjoying familiar landscapes from a new perspective. You will spend the night at Lama Hotel with your trekking team.

After breakfast at Lama Hotel, you will trek back to Syabrubensi following the same trail you ascended earlier. The descent is gentler and allows you to walk comfortably while enjoying the forest scenery, river views, and peaceful surroundings. This final day on the trail gives you time to reflect on your journey and celebrate your trekking achievement with your team. You will spend the night in Syabrubensi, marking the successful completion of your Langtang Trek.

As usual, after breakfast in the morning, you will catch a local jeep or bus for the drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes you along the same winding mountain roads, offering one last chance to enjoy the scenic landscapes of the Langtang region. After reaching Kathmandu, your memorable Langtang Trek officially comes to an end.
